If The Suit Fits…

Here at Penn Quarter Living it isn’t all penthouses, diamond rings, and bespoke suits. We also like saving money and getting discounts whenever we can. One money savings event in particular that we look forward to each year is the annual selling of the linen suits at H&M. Ok, that’s not really an official event; but we know that as the weather gets warmer in the spring H&M will offer up linen suits for a short period of time.
The linen suits are inexpensive (approximately $100 for pants & jacket), can last you several seasons, and they require no alterations for the average Joe. Best of all these linen suits can be steamed in the bathroom while you shower, thus removing all wrinkles (without harassing your wife to iron them out for you). Maybe we’ve watched Fitzcarraldo one too many times, but there is a special feeling you get from wearing a linen suit. Especially when you paid less for the suit than you did for your monthly supply of Starbucks coffee.

They’ve got a few in stock now but nothing like the numbers in past years. Maybe May is when the big shipment arrives. I did pick one up last night but it was one of the few remaining.
The costs of the tailoring that I would have to do would probably be more than the cost of the suit LOL
haven’t worn linen in a while but it sure is comfortable when the weather gets hot. always had to spend some time keeping it pressed and in ready-to-go condition.
Did you infer (and I imply) that ironing is a woman’s job? I’m sure Columbo’s mom would not like the sound of that.
I am going to try your steaming trick with my linen skirts.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
After hearing you talk about it before, I went there looking for them last weekend and they didn’t have any yet. You’ll have to let us know when they arrive.
