Jetties, the sandwich shop that got its start on Foxhall Road in the Foxhall Village neighborhood, posted signage in the former 1791 DC Deli space on 8th Street (701 8th St NW) and its grand opening will be on April 4 April 14. 1791 DC Deli opened in August of 2006 and closed in July of 2014. This address is on the ground floor of the same building that plays host to Proof Restaurant which is on the corner of 8th and G Street.
Jetties has five locations currently and offers sandwiches, salads, and ice cream. Menus vary by location but the Foxhall location’s menu can be viewed here.
Jetties grand opening will be on Saturday, April 4 Tuesday, April 14 and the first 100 customers will get a free Nobadeer sandwich (per their Facebook page). Sounds delicious to us!

Back in 2011 when Mrs Columbo and I were making daily trips to Sibley on the D6 for a couple of months, she would always comment on wanting to try Jetties. We never did make it there, but we’ve seen them popping up over the city, so maybe we’ll finally give this one a try.
