Mastro’s Steakhouse Opening On Friday, May 8 (600 13th St NW)
The new Mastro’s Steakhouse grand opening is this upcoming Friday, May 8 at the corner of 13th and F St NW (600 13th St NW). This is the next in a line of steakhouses to open in downtown DC. The highlights include:
- a 14,000 square foot space across two levels
- an 8 foot entryway chandelier (click on construction photo above)
- entry level – main dining and two bars
- downstairs level – one bar, two private dining rooms, and a small boardroom
- a menu featuring steak, seafood, vegetables, and beverages – sample menu from Chicago location
This is the 13th Mastro’s opening up and the second on the East Coast. Hours will be as follows:
- Monday – Thursday: 11:30 am – 3 pm (lunch); 5 pm – 10 pm (dinner)
- Friday: 11:30 am – 3 pm (lunch); 5 pm to 11 pm (dinner)
- Saturday: 5 pm – 11 pm (dinner)
- Sunday: 5 pm – 10 pm (dinner)
- Bar opens daily at 4 pm

MASTRO’S STEAKHOUSE OPENS SECOND EAST COAST LOCATION IN WASHINGTON D.C.
The Opening Will Mark the 13th Location of the Mastro’s Collection of Restaurants
WASHINGTON,D.C. – Mastro’s Steakhouse will open its doors in Washington D.C. on Friday, May 8, 2015 as the thirteenth Mastro’s Restaurant location in the U.S and the second on the East Coast. The iconic restaurant celebrated by diners and critics alike is renowned for indulgent, signature dishes such as their two-foot-tall seafood tower, lobster mashed potatoes, and melt-in-your-mouth Signature Warm Butter Cake.
The upscale steakhouse is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, just east of the White House, a short walk to the National Mall, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. Mastro’s will offer a first-class dining experience with the highly attentive, genuine service and hospitality that guests have come to expect.
The menu, traditionally consistent across all of Mastro’s Steakhouse locations, features only the highest quality, freshest seafood and USDA Prime steaks, complemented with a wide selection of sharable appetizers, family-style side dishes and house-made desserts. Lunch will be served Monday – Friday from 11:30am – 3pm and will offer salads, sandwiches and burgers in addition to Mastro’s legendary menu items.

Mastro’s new venue is a bi-level, 14,000 square foot space, with décor specifically chosen to reflect the authenticity of Washington D.C. The entry is marked with a large custom glass chandelier, 8 feet in diameter. The bar design features rich Grigio Carnico marble and Black Galaxy granite, with walls accented in a cork wall covering with a gold tone overlay pattern. Dark tobacco stained wood flooring inlaid with walnut brown marble adds depth and interest to the entry and bar, leading to an elaborate custom metal stair providing access to the lower level. The custom wood and marble floor pattern continues the theme below. Comfy leather banquettes and wood top tables can be found in the downstairs dining/bar, with special wall coverings, cove lights, and other signature Mastro’s touches.
The lower level features a second bar, two private dining rooms and a small boardroom, while the street level houses the main dining room and two bars. The sophisticated atmosphere of the Mastro’s D.C. location will also be complemented with live entertainment for guests, ranging from Top 40 to Classic to Contemporary, at the upstairs bar seven nights a week.

Mastro’s Steakhouse is located at 600 13th Street N.W, Washington D.C. 20005. The restaurant is open Monday – Thursday 11:30am – 10pm; Friday Lunch 11:30am, Dinner 5pm-11pm, Saturday Dinner 5pm-11pm and Sunday 5pm – 10pm.
