You don’t always have to go to the Kennedy Center to experience exquisite ballet performances. Here are a few upcoming performances in our backyard:
Oct. 22-26 The Washington Ballet performs three company premieres, Petite Mort by Jiří Kylián, 5 Tangos by Hans van Manen, Polyphonia by Christopher Wheeldon at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St., NW).
In honor of the premiere of “Little Dancer” The Musical at The Kennedy Center, the National Gallery of Art (4th St. at Constitution Ave., NW) is hosting a special exhibit of Degas’ famous statuette and 14 other works. Additionally, The Kirov Ballet Academy the Kirov Academy of Ballet will perform a 19th century ballet rehearsal inspired by Degas’ work Nov. 28-30 Sunday, November 23 at 3:30 pm in the museum’s West Garden Court.
The Washington Ballet performs Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker Dec. 4-24 at the Warner Theatre (13th and E Sts., NW).
