** Please see our latest (June 1) updates on the Stanley Cup Final traffic, transit, and events here. **

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) posted the following verbatim on their website about 6th Street NW and F Street NW closures spanning May 29 to June 13. The last game of the series is Wednesday, June 13 so we believe the press release typo Wednesday, June 12 intends the end date to be Wednesday, June 13:

The Washington Capitals play the Las Vegas Golden Knights for the NHL’s Stanley Cup beginning tonight. The seven game series will have downtown Washington DC and Penn Quarter alive with events as long as the series lasts with three of the games possible at the Capital One Arena (601 F St NW).
After the Tampa Bay game 7 watch party ebullient Captials fans flooded 7th St NW and the surrounding area for about an hour. We expect more of the same especially if the Capitals are victorious. Find the Stanley Cup schedule and happenings below:
Away Game Watch Parties at Capital One Arena (Games 1 & 2)
Game 1 – Washington Capitals at Las Vegas Golden Knights – Monday, May 28 at 8 pm – RSVP requested
Game 2 – Washington Capitals at Las Vegas Golden Knights – Wednesday, May 30 at 8 pm
All the watch parties feature:
- Capital One Arena will open at 7 pm for an 8 pm television start
- $4 draft beers from 7 pm to 8 pm
- Stanley Cup merch on sale
- Appearances by Slapshot, the Red Rockers, Caps personalities, and more
We attended the watch party for game 7 against Tampa Bay and can say that it was generally fantastic with the arena filling up in the 100 and 200 levels, about two-thirds full. The only gripe we had was that the concessions were staffed too thinly for the size of the crows as demonstrated by the long lines and exhausted concession staff. We appreciated their efforts though!
Home Stand at Capital One Arena (Games 3 & 4)
Game 3 – Las Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals – Saturday, June 2 at 8 pm
Game 4 – Las Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals – Monday, June 4 at 8 pm

- Secondary ticket vendors – StubHub, TicketIQ, SeatGeek and others
