By e-mail we were notified of the next Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association breakfast meeting. In a recent post, we mentioned how to track the MLK Library’s renovation progress; this meeting will allow you to ask questions of both the Library’s representative and the architecture firm in person to learn more. Richard Reyes-Gavilan, Jeff Bonvechio, and Tom Johnson
Renovation of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial LibraryRichard Reyes-Gavilan, the DC Public Library’s Executive Director, will give us a quick overview of the MLK Library renovation goals. Jeff Bonvechio, Director of Capital Construction and Facilities, will discuss the project’s status and the next steps in the review process. Tom Johnson, a named principal of Martinez + Johnson Architecture, will describe the architectural vision for the project along with ideas for solving some of the challenges.
