PQ Link Roundup: Heard In The ‘Hood
All of DC – Marc Fisher, local color commentator, signs off from his Raw Fisher column and blog and Potomac Confidential live discussions on the Washington Post. We absolutely agree with him that “Where we live still matters.” and he’s promised to appear elsewhere working on a new project “to figure out what connects us.” We’ll want to know where so we can follow along. [WaPo – Raw Fisher]
Downtown – Architecture firm OTJ at 1412 Eye Street, NW is profiled. The building OTJ rehabbed for office space used to be the hippest dance club in Washington DC for part of the 1990s. The clue? OTJ’s entrance is actually on Zei Alley, similarly named as the old multilevel Club Zei, which still shows up on Yahoo! with a yellow pages listing. Probably not as desirable as an Eye Street address though. [DC Metrocentric]
Mount Vernon Triangle – New tavern application filed for building next to the Papa John’s facing Massachsuetts Ave. Nice to see “green shoots” in that area. [The (Mount Vernon) Triangle]
Mount Pleasant – Michelle Obama visits an elementary school in MP. The Obamas are getting out and about in their new town and we like it. [The 42 (Bus)]

Looks like there’s something going into the retail space in the IBEW building at 7th and I – an alcohol permit notice is in the windows.
