PQ Riders On The Storm
When the news media go into frenzy mode because of an approaching storm, many people run to grocery stores to stock up on the big three: Bread, milk & toilet paper.
In just under a week PQ will join the ranks of those able to run to a local grocery store for these all important items, until then we still have to head to CVS for our storm survival needs. Still we want to be better prepared for emergencies than our neighbors who only pick up the big three, so we’d like your input on we should have on hand for riding out storms like Hanna which caused problems in the metro area yesterday.
Some suggestions from our friends and neighbors have included:
- Plenty of water
- Flashlights
- Storm Radio/Battery Powered Radio
- Canned/Non-Perishable Food & Pet Food (If you have pets)
- Axes, Stakes, Garlic, Mirrors, Shotguns & Ammo, in the (unlikely?) event of a Vampire/Zombie Invasion
When you add the obligatory bread, milk & toilet paper to that list is it complete? What else should PQ’ers have on hand when disaster strikes?

From a former Floridian…
Big bags of ice for the freezer (buys you extra hours on the food)
Most important, plenty of beer and wine.
Cash money is critical to have on hand for emergencies. ATMs & credit card verification systems are often disabled in emergency situations. A few hundred or a few thousand dollars in cash money can save your bacon.

A to-go order of Tapas and a few buckets with a set of drumsticks to provide food and musical entertainment in the event the power goes out.
