Water + Books = Mess
The popular library (general fiction & mysteries) is closed at the MLK Library. Although the room looks fine, library staff informed us their was a plumbing emergency which forced the closure. If you know this section of the library (ground floor, South East wing) it is hard to imagine where any plumbing pipes would be located.
No word from staff on when the section would re-open, but there was no smell in the room (sections A through about K had already opened) so hopefully they’ll be back in business tomorrow.

I must say the DC Libraries have greatly improved over the past year and they are now getting new, current books as they come out. But physically. MLK is a disgrace. Your main library should inspire awe, not disgust. They need to do something with it, and quickly.

There is a staff bathroom adjacent to the room that has a tendency to overflow…this isn’t the first time this has happened.
