Weekend Fun: Arts On Foot, DC Shorts & A Dock Sale
There are two festivals going on in the Penn Quarter this weekend that we have to point out and one dock sale. Any way you slice it, it’s never a dull moment downtown.
First, is the Arts on Foot, an annual festival now in its 18th year that turns F Street in between 6th and 9th Streets NW into a celebration of the arts (Festival Map [PDF]). Art vendor booths line the street, multiple performance stages can be found, and restaurants will be offering their culinary delights for visitors to try. The art market is open today and tomorrow and the festival portion runs tomorrow.
Second, is the DC Shorts Film Festival, also an annual festival, that runs independently produced short films at both the E Street Cinema and the U.S. Navy Memorial Theatre. Tickets are available online and at the participating theaters at showtime (if not sold out). The festival runs September 9 to September 16.
Lastly, the urban equivalent of a garage sale, a dock sale, will be taking place tomorrow from 9 am to 2 pm at the Cosmopolitan Condominium at 715 6th St NW. Go around the building into the alley to the loading dock in the back for condo/apartment furnishings for sale with an emphasis on art, furniture, music, and electronics. Happy hunting!

Any idea if the dock sale is open to additional sellers?
