It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s d.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no…it’s none of those…it’s the new District’s Department of Transportation (DDOT) bicycle rack. Debuted on D Street in front of Andale Restaurant (between 6th and 7th Streets) is a bright red bicycle rack presumably for public use. PQ Resident wonders if anyone else has seen similar racks in DC.
Banner Over Gallery Place’s Bed Bath And Beyond, Hunh?
This one is a head-scratcher. Yesterday, a banner was installed stretching across 7th Street reading “Chinatown Welcomes Bed Bath And Beyond [obligitory Chinese script]” Since the store opened five months ago, we’re left wondering: Is business really that slow at BB&B?
WaPo’s City Guide: Fringe & Restaurants
Some readers have requested a listing of all restaurants in the Gallery Place/Penn Quarter area. The WaPo has a nice City Guide feature that lists all of the restaurants and provides reviews. Also, the WaPo debuted a user friendly site for the Fringe Festival.
Capital Fringe Festival Background & SFGate Swoons Penn Quarter
Ever wonder where the Capital Fringe Festival got its beginnings? Wonder no more (courtesy of WaPo). Also, the SFGate wrote a flattering article about our neighborhood, Penn Quarter. Regarding the Portrait Gallery’s opening, Marc Pachter says, “The vitality of the neighborhood caught up to our own ambitions.”
