District Of Pi Lease Confirmed, Construction Starts
We have received official word that the District of Pi restaurant has signed its lease at approx. 912 F St NW! Construction will commence immediately. Here is some additional info about the restaurant copied from our initial announcement in September:
District of Pi is a pizzeria based out of St. Louis, MO and will host about 150 seats plus another 800 sq ft of space in the mezzanine of the building. The pizzeria also features custom-brewed beer, Pi Common, crafted by Schlafly, a Saint Louis Brewery.

Paul: You are correct! From this article, they stated that they want to open on 3.14 2011.
Speaking of Paul, does anyone know if that bakery still coming to PQ? I thought I also read they were headed to G’town.
Answered my own question. Slated to open Jan 2011 @ 801 Penn. Ave.

Anyone know if it still looks like next month?
Change of subject, but anyone else notice that the Hill Country BBQ sign has been taken down? Any news? Please tell me they aren’t going the way of Wagamama and Balducci’s (aka killed by a combo of a bad economy, a greedy, short sighted, economically foolish landlord, and improper assumptions about the stregnth of our neighorhood (e.g. using out dated census data and failing to realize that every business in our ‘hood is booming so not to open up in PQ is just about as dumb as they come)).
Pi Common will make a great addition to the neighborhood’s choice of specialty brews.
Schlafly has really been pushing into the East Coast beer market (their 2 Degrees Below Winter Ale is quite good).
It’ll certainly present another microbrew option – look out Chophouse and Cap City!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I thought I read a little while back (perhaps in WBJ) that they really wanted to open on 3/14 if possible.
