Potbelly’s Signage Is Up On K St (1050 K St NW)
Seeing a stove with an enlarged gut is a familiar sight if you walk downtown. Also known as a potbelly stove, it is the logo of Potbelly’s Sandwich Shop which has multiple stores in downtown DC. In fact, there are five in the East End where we’ve eaten and soon we will bump the count up to six. The outlet pictured to the right is at 1050 K St NW with a listed opening date of Spring 2011. Most alluring are the milkshakes made out of real ice cream and full fat milk just like they used to make at the diner we patronized in our earlier years. The sandwiches are consistently good too. Our personal favorite for filling up is A Wreck paired up with a (hand-dipped) coffee shake. What is your favorite meal there?

Italian with everything but onion. Great sandwiches.
