The Spy Who Cooked My Turkey
Thanksgiving might just be our favorite holiday. The cooking, food, the wine, the football, the Columbo family famous egg dressing. But prior to moving to PQ Mrs Columbo and I were known to occassionally skip cooking and go out for the meal. Going out for the meal is great fun, but you lose out on the leftovers, arguably the best part of Thanksgiving.
If you don’t like to cook but don’t want to go out you’ve always had the option of having your meal cooked for you by the grocery store. Now Penn Quarter residents have another option, Zola Wine & Kitchen (505 9th st NW) is offering too cook your meal for you. The menu has a wide variety of a la carte offerings, or you can purchase a combo meal said to feed 6-8 people for about $150.
Zola is the only restaurant in PQ we’ve noticed advertising a take-out Thanksgiving feast for the family; but in a neighborhood with such amazing culinary offerings we’d give thanks to know if there are others looking to make your holiday a little less stressful.

Carmine’s on 7th St will cook a T-Day dinner for $195. the sign in their window says it’ll feed 6 to 8 which for Carmine’s might really mean a lot more!
We’ve done ZWK for Thanksgiving for the last two years and it is amazing! One tip – order the turkey prepped then put it in your own oven, no one actually believed I cooked such a delicious bird but my home smelled like Thanksgiving!
also, Hill Country is doing T-Day take away. here’s the menu. $165 feeds 5 to 8 and $265 feeds 9 to 12. a la carte is available too.
I think the FBI should stay in the neighborhood if they renovate the headquarters or rebuild it. Its better to have them as neighbors than another law firm.

off topic, but does this mean there is real hope for getting rid of the monstrosity that is the FBI building?
