RSS FeedPyle Photo Comes to Penn Quarter!
What made national news on Monday also makes for local news for Penn Quarter residents. The newly discovered photo of famed WW2 reporter, Ernie Pyle, was all over the papers. And, according to the this FoxNews article, one of the owners of the mint-condition photo print will make his print available to the Newseum (555 Penn Ave NW)!
Margaret Engel, the Newseum’s managing editor, says the photo is “of strong historic interest,” and because Pyle died at the height of his fame, “the circumstances of his death … remain a compelling story for students of journalism and the war.”
