Becky’s Café (505 H St NW) Bought By Developers
Mark sent us a quick note that Becky’s Café at 505 H St NW has been bought by developers, according to the sign on the door. Looks like the development fever is spreading to the 500 block of H St NW!

IMO, Full Kee is the only viable business that might be able to afford the rent on that block in the mid-to-long term. The Chinatown buses perhaps as well.
Becky’s looked the sketchiest of all the area restaurants.
Li Ho doesn’t look too hot either these days.
li ho is the worst shit i’ve ever eaten in my life…big wong is money! shrimp toast is the best – try it, you’ll thank me
re: brian’s comment, i thought i heard that saint germaine had no control over their facade because of regulations relating to the historical nature of the fronts. perhaps that has changed.
Where is the Chinatown/New York bus stop going to be moved to next? they keep getting evicted from private property and now they’re loading at a METRObus stop.
I’ve never seen one customer in Salon St Germaine… I doubt painting the facade black will draw in customers — maybe a price reduction would help?
Apparently, they received approval. I heard that rumor a few weeks ago, so perhaps the approval was revoked?
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Heard through the grapeview that Salon Saint Germaine is planning on painting its facade black in the coming weeks.
