totally with you PQS on MVT.
I’m encouraged that the city (?) put comments in about no after 10 pm jackhammering on 6th Street near residents. progress!
The change in the PEPCO permit for 700 6th Street NW was negotiated by DNA with DDOT and DCRA. We have been promised that a similar provision will be in the upcoming nightwork for DCWASA and Washington Gas. Unfortunately our Downtown Neighborhood does not have the same protection as do pure residential zones. There is no requirement that our neighborhood residents be considered before a permit is issued. We are working to change that, both informally and formally.
Any idea what’s going on at the old Juan Valdez space? Walked by this morning, and there was a contractor working in there.
Walked by the old Juan Valdez site again this weekend and something was definitely going on. There were contractors inside and I could see drawings for a lounge called “revolution” or something like that. The designs were done by Grupo 7 (http://www.grupo-7.com/). I couldn’t tell if it was going to be in the Juan valdez space, the space next to it, or if they were combining the two spaces. I leave the rest of the gumshoeing to you.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I hope the second one means they’ll start to build soon after the demolition. I believe that’s part of the massive office complex by QDC for “Mount Vernon Place.” I’d love to know when they’re going to start on the “Church Square” building across 3rd St from Madrigal Lofts.
