If history is a teacher then this meeting should evolve into an ego trip for our little king leroi

daphne: Unfortunately, our ANC doesn’t believe in setting up a website and they don’t publish the agenda in advance of the meetings (that we know of).
If you would like that type of information in advance along with a lot of other useful information about the ANC, then you will need to vote out Mr. Thorpe in November. Either that of vote ANC Commissioners who are against Thorpe into all 3 of the other SMDs, then they can vote to have Alex Padro as the ANC 2C Chair. Until one of those goals is accomplished, we will continue to suffer.
YEEAAAA!!!!! I just realized that since I live in the Lafayette I live in ANC02 6C and don’t have to worry about the stupidity of ANC02 2C (in which the poor rule the rich, the renters dominate the owners, and the whole world seems to be topsy-turvy under chief clown thorpe). What a relief. I wish you guys the best, I can’t believe they drew the lines to allow neighborhoods like Shaw to govern a large part of the affluent PQ/GP neighborhood. Then again it is DC, where “Working hard” “successful” “land owner” and “capitalism” all seem to be dirty words….
Monsieur/Madame/Mademoiselle Lafayette: I hope you’re not suggesting that some of us, not affluent, renters, are not “hard working.” And if there are more poor renters (due the availability of rental vs affordable for sale property in the neighborhood), then in a just democracy, that majority should have a strong voice. That voice should not be the only voice but it shouldn’t be denigrated. We can all appreciate the fruits of capitalism only when it is kept in check by a just democracy. And if you intend to suggest that “success” is measured chiefly by money and material possessions; indeed, that demonstrates a certain poverty in your judgement.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
What’s the agenda for the meeting? What topics will be discussed? Will there be any guest speakers making presentations or submitting items for ANC approval? This information will be very useful for those of us with hectic schedules who need to balance work, childcare and other duties with being engaged in the business of the community. I cannot make all of these meetings, but I would like to attend those that address topics I care about. Thank you in advance for your answers.
