The individual who left the comment about drunken vets has probably never attended the Rolling Thunder memorial ride into DC. No alcohol is permitted at the staging area (Pentagon)and that rule is strictly enforced as the event is very family friendly, with all types of people from all over the country, including a great number of professionals-lawyers, doctors, etc. from the DC area-participating. Please try to be a little more enlightened before leaving this type of criticism. It really is unfair. Best wishes to all for a safe holiday weekend!
there will be lots of Harleys but Rolling Thunder is always a respectful and orderly procession.
I agree with anon 10:40 – this will not be a Police Week redux.
It’s sad, though perhaps unsurprising, that I have come to respect these rough-looking, hog-riding vets more than the active duty police officers who trash our city for a week each year. These guys are loud (my puppy won’t like that), but very respectful.
I just walked past a couple blocks of Rolling Thunder participants on G street in front of the Building musuem.
They were very orderly and quiet….such a contrast to police week. Rolling Thunder could give lessons to the police on how “adults” should act.
Cheers to Rolling Thunder.
