Capitol Crossing Development Presenting At Next PQNA Meeting (Tue, Feb 26)

Posted by pqresident
February 21, 2013

The Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association e-mailed us to let us know about their next meeting next Tuesday. As always, the meeting promises an update on an interesting topic with the VP of Development for Property Group Partners presenting on Capitol Crossing, the mixed-use development that will reconnect F and G Streets NW across I-395 at the eastern edge of Penn Quarter. Think of it as a 2.2 million square foot extension to the neighborhood that sits on top of the currently open freeway from E St NW to the Massachusetts Ave/I-395 ramps (map). It will be huge!

Details on the meeting and how to RSVP follow:

I like buildings where glass dominates the exterior building material, but is there any way to make these buildings look less monotonous, more distinctive? I reckon we are going to regret approving such buildings 20 years from now as the 21st centuries version of Brutalism.

@CatWalk – I had the same reaction. iconic buildings make a neighborhood or place memorable. also no residential component. you can go to the meeting and ask to find out. :)
