We heard from Capitol Crossing, the project that is decking over I-395 and building on top of it, with a photo update that really provides a good sense of perspective on the project. The photo above shows a view looking southward from Massachusetts Ave towards the Capitol building and the gallery below includes the full photo set showing the project’s progress.

The project now registers significant progress on the first building at 200 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (rendering link). Work on the third of twelve floors of that first building is moving ahead full steam and the platform covering the highway is over 50 percent completed. The project brings 4,000 construction jobs to the city, and—once completed—will support an estimated 10,000 employees and residents in the five buildings.

As part of the original PUD for the development, an amount of money was to be provided to improve the park there at on Massachusetts Avenue. This development work was to be dine in conjunction with MVSNA and Casey Trees to improve that triangle park. What was ever done with this?
