A Penn Quarter Living reader sent in this photo of signage for Chaia Tacos located in the 600 Massachusetts Ave building. Don’t be fooled though as the entrance is on the north side of I St NW between 6th and 7th St NW. Their neighbors are Karma Modern Indian.
On Facebook they describe themselves as follows:
Chaia is an unconventional taco shop serving insanely delicious tacos made entirely with vegetables. Yes, vegetables. But not just any vegetables. Only the freshest, local, (and whenever possible organic) vegetables inventively prepared from scratch, and combined with spices, house-made salsas, and other tasty toppings—all tucked inside a handmade, griddled corn tortilla.
Chaia hit the food scene in Georgetown serving vegetarian tacos. Frankly, their menu does look delicious and they also offer most of their menu in a vegan form. so we’ll keep you posted as we learn more. Chaia’s Facebook account says they’re planning to open in mid-December.
