Dancing in the Moonlight
Ever dream of dancing under the stars? We stumbled upon music and dancing on Freedom Plaza last night, and found out it was “Argentine Tango Sunday.” From what we could gather, this appears to be associated with the Washington DC Argentine Tango Sunday and Thursday Dance Class and will be continuing through the end of September. Looks like you can get more info on these classes at PleaseDanceWithMe.com if interested, but really it was just a beautiful night in DC to stop & watch them move.

Dancing was on the western half of the plaza, but rest assured the skaters were still hanging on the eastern side.
Ooh, how exciting to see this here… as a long-time tanguero who is moving to Mt. Vernon Triangle, it’s great to see a shoutout to my tango-dancing friends on the front page of a blog that I read daily.
I’ve been out dancing tango on Freedom Plaza several times, and it’s always great. And sometimes the skateboarders do at least slow down a bit to take notice! There’s more information about it at: http://www.geocities.com/capitaltangueros/ and http://www.geocities.com/capitaltangueros/freedom.html (including a link to a WaPo article).
As far as I know, it’s not affiated with pleasedancewithme…
