Downtown & Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association Meetings Next Week
Both of our neighborhood association meetings will take place next week. The first one is on March 10th for the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) and the second meeting is on March 11 for the Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association (PQNA). Here are the details:
Downtown Neighborhood Association
Tuesday, March 10th, 6:30pm
733 8th Street, NW (Calvary Baptist Church)
Agenda: discussion with PSA 101 West officers, Zola Wine & Kitchen cooking class presentation, Standard Solar to discuss the viability of retrofitting solar systems, Western Development who will discuss their vision for downtown and advertising signage plans
Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association
Wednesday, March 11, 8:30am
707 7th Street, NW, 2nd floor of Clyde’s
Agenda: Mayor Fenty will be in attendance to discuss a number of “quality of life” issues that have been of concern over the years, such as pedestrian safety at the 7th and H streets intersection, traffic congestion during block buster events at the Verizon Center, noise from pre-dawn trash pick-up trucks, Pennsylvania Avenue street closings, police department follow-up to thefts at neighborhood shops, dedicated resident parking to unload purchases, and funding for arts in Penn Quarter.
