Crime & Punishment Museum Opens Tomorrow (575 7th St NW)

The National Museum of Crime and Punishment (575 7th Street, NW) opens to the public tomorrow, Friday, May 23. Opening day tickets will be half price for regular folks and free for law enforcement personnel (badge or credentials required). It’s three floors and more than 28,000 square feet of the history of crime and punishment in America ranging from pirates, Wild West outlaws, serial killers and gangsters to white collar criminals hiding behind computer technology. The museum also explores crime fighting and crime solving techniques as well as the consequences of committing a crime.
Special opening day activities will include:
9 am – 11 am and 1 pm – 3 pm – Meet world famous crime fighting dog McGruff and learn “How to take a bite out of crime! Ruff!”
10 am – 12 noon – Meet Museum owner and creator, John Morgan, and John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted.
2 pm – 4 pm – Age progression and facial Reconstruction demonstrations by the experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Learn how forensic imaging specialists manipulate facial features to predict basic structural changes in a child’s face using artistic skill in combination with the science of growth analysis.

Open daily 9 am to 7 pm except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

Your money is much better spent at the Spy Museum than at this knock-off of a museum.
