Foodie Radar: Just Say Yes
This week, we learned a valuable lesson in why it’s a good idea to just say YES!
The Invite – Scott Drewno, Chef at The Source by Wolfgang Puck (575 Pennsylvania Ave., NW), invites you to a Chinese New Year dim sum buffet.
The Decision – It’s a Monday night, it’s been a dreary day, we don’t really feel like going out. However, we said we would go and it is right down the street, so if it isn’t any fun, we can always leave.
The Scene – Local chefs, restauranteurs, foodies, neighborhood fans, and media gather to celebrate the Year of the Snake, as well as the TV premier of Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods America visit to Washington, DC. Red lanterns everywhere, dumplings, spareribs and seafood galore, plus generously poured champagne and a thrilling lion dance.
The Bonus – Running into an acquaintance who is a wine collector and being included on a private pour of a 1990 Dom Perignon, a 2010 Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee, and magnum of 2009 Sine Qua Non Turn the Whole Thing Upside Down. Oh, and we got to meet chef to the stars, Wolfgang Puck!!!
