The National Park Service website states that Ford’s Theatre is going to undergo “life-safety and accessibility improvements” in 2007, to be completed by August 2008 to coincide with the Presidential Gala at Ford’s Theatre scheduled for September 2008.
Artisan and Ventana who residents share the alleyway behind Ford’s Theatre may be especially interested in this information.

This would have been nice to know four months ago when Ford’s Theatre sold me a year’s membership.

I was at box office just a bit ago and the seller confirmed that Ford’s would be closing down this summer for renovation when I asked about it. She said it hadn’t been publically announced yet.
The not yet opened Aktidge store fronts near 10th and F were getting some deliveries; so there may be actvities shaping up there soon.
