Gifford’s On E Street NW Not Open For Now

Posted by pqresident
May 18, 2010

UPDATE (May 19): We heard back from Gifford’s management and they said that one of their operating licenses lapsed and are in the process of renewing it. Assuming the city moves with intent, they expect to be open in 7 to 10 days with a better run store. They also said they are considering further expansion elsewhere downtown.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two PQ Living readers alerted us this past Saturday that the Gifford’s Ice Cream (555 11th St NW) which has its entrance fronting E Street NW between 10th and 11th Streets NW appears to be closed for now. We attempted to reach Gifford’s corporate by phone to learn more about this closure by the city but have not heard back and hope they reopen soon. As of this afternoon, the store is still closed.

Did anyone notice that the Muse Lounge was also closed this weekend? Any ideas as to what happened to cause the involuntary closure for 96 hours?

That’s disgusting. Place was very dirty last time I entered.

Muse was closed for 96 hours because of an incident that took place early Sunday morning.

The Giffords in Bethesda had only a few flavors, could only take cash, a broken yogurt machine and dirty floor over the weekend. Are they in trouble?
