On January 15, Mary Zimmerman’s adaptation of the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, Argonautika starts up at the Lansburgh Theatre and runs until March 2.
On February 19, George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara opens at Harman Hall.

Columbo, you’re not alone! I want to pinch myself regularly how lucky I feel to live in PQ.
We moved downtown about a year ago – rented for 6 months to “test out the neighborhood” and then quickly found a condo to purchase.
I love the proximity to dozens of great spots, and we venture out quite often to explore. Great exercise doing a lap around the mall and monuments. Lots of nooks and crannies to read a book or enjoy the sunshine. Not only the theater offerings, but bowling, movies, pretty much anything playing at Verizon Center become standard evening and weekend activities. All within steps of each other!! And, so many restaurants – considering I don’t really cook we’re slowly making our way through them all.
There are downsides everywhere of course but I do feel like I’m in Disneyland sometimes with all there is to explore in PQ.
I can vouch that M & Ms are especially noisy since I tend to eat them all too frequently. good thing there are some great running routes downtown.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I thought I was up on my theatre etiquette, but this was a new one to me:
Unwrap all candies and cough drops before the curtain goes up or the concert begins.
I would like to apologize to everyone who has ever sat near me and had to listen to my everlasting gobstopper being opened during a show.
Additionally, sometimes when I read entries like this one I’m struck again by what a great neighborhood in a great city we live in. So many fun theatres, restaurants, museums, etc. The national mall just a few blocks away for most of us, and many other fun neighborhoods in close promixity.
I can’t be the only one who feels this way, right?
