Here’s what we were reading last week about neighborhood news in DC.

Mount Vernon Triangle – An explanation and discussion of vault space rentals. This is not the kind of vault you’d find in a bank…if you own a condo and deeded parking space downtown, you may want to read this one. [The (Mount Vernon) Triangle]

Columbia Heights – Artists are showing their wares on the street in Columbia Heights. Kind of a street fair, you might say. [New Columbia Heights]

14th Street -  A nice profile on SOM Records (1843 14th St NW), a vinyl record store that brings you back to the days when you could enjoy the cover art and talk to sales staff that knew something about music. [Borderstan]

H Street NE – The real housewives of DC were spotted on H Street. Do you think they would go to that part of DC if a TV producer didn’t tell them to? [Frozen Tropics]

Logan/14th Street – Yep…it sure did snow yesterday. A dusting? Ha! [14th and You]

Shaw – More Convention Center legal wackiness. [Renew Shaw]

Penn Quarter – We noticed that both the Chipotle under the Verizon Center and the Starbucks at the corner of 7th and H St NW are closed because they’ve been gutted and are undergoing complete renovation. The nearest Chipotle? 18th and M St NW. The nearest Starbucks? You can try the one on 8th between K and I or on 9th between G and H or on 7th at E or…you get the picture.

Another link worth mentioning is the Where We Live feature in yesterday’s Washingtonpost that spotlighted the Mount Vernon Triangle.

From seedy to sought-after: D.C.’s Mount Vernon Triangle becoming urban village

Concerning the Real Housewives of DC on H St., NE. This had nothing to do with what a producer wanted. It was the opposite in fact. One of the wives is friends with a business owner down there, so when the producer wanted to go to Georgetown, the cast member said ” no, let’s go to H St ”

So in fact, your assumption about knowing anything about the housewives, and where they would want to go is wrong.

More importantly, what’s up with Chipotle? What exactly did they need to renovate? And how will I survive the withdrawal symptoms in the meantime?

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
