Walking around the city last night we noticed that some jokers at the Caucus Room had Dasher & Vixen playing reindeer games in one of the restaurant’s 9th Street windows. Not the most creative holiday window display we’ve seen this year, but to borrow a phrase: we report, you decide.

Caucus Room has a fantastic Kansas City Strip, but average everything else.
Even still, it is close and nice to have dinner at every so often.
They offer BYO Wine with NO CORKAGE FEE on Friday and Saturday nights!
Although they don’t have the best atmosphere in the nieghborhood, the food is still better than places like Morton’s or Ruth Chris (or the District Chop House for sure).
It’s great to have a corkage fee free BYO spot in our own neighborhood, but I do fear they will go out of business at some point.
The only other place I know if that has such an offer is Charlie Palmer, which is valid every day of the week for up to 2 bottles, but limited to American Wine.
Seems like Caucus Room is no longer “in” with the political establishment. They’re all at Capital Grill, which is my choice when lobbyists are paying for my dinner!
Caucus Room is a place I always want to like, but everytime I go I get terrible service. The kind of bad service that makes you never want to go back. That’s especially disappointing to me because they do have a good sized/laid out bar. Too bad, it should be a good place to go out in PQ.
Of all the DC steak houses, I am consistently most impressed by BLT. Caucus Room is just Clydes with a more expensive menu.
