Co Co. Sala Now Open!
One of the owners of Co Co. Sala (929 F Street, NW) wrote in to let us know that…tada…they are now open! In fact, we’ll let him describe Co Co. in his own words:
Hello PQ…My name is Bharet and I am one of the two owners of Co Co. Sala. It has been two years in the making and we are thrilled and elated to be part of your neighborhood. I must say that we have received a very warm welcome from this area and a lot of excited residents. Our decision to be here has been nothing short of magnificent. As for now, we are open for dinner service only starting from 5 pm…as soon as we are in perfect shape, we will start breakfast at 7 am and lunch as well so we will almost be a 24 hour operation. We will also serve food past midnite…I am going to be checking this blog [PQ Living] often so feel free to ask any questions and I will certainly be as responsive as possible. Kindly…Bharet
The venue includes both dinner ($7 (bite sized plates) to $30) and as the evening progresses, bar & lounge service – for now, they cited no Sunday hours they cited no Sunday dinner hours. This writer is a fan of desserts and along with single desserts, a multi-course (as in five course!) dessert is on the menu. Now that’s something to smack your lips over!
Ed. Note: PQ Living received word that the Washingtonian magazine posted a Best Bites story on the venue which includes a Co Co. Sala menu preview here.

Sunday brunch/coffee anyone? Not being open on Sundays just doesn’t seem to make sense for this place.
I keep hoping that one of these new restaurants would offer some type of promotional discount or special for neighborhood residents. When I lived in London that approach was common and quickly provided new spots with a supply of loyal, local patrons.
Wow, the Co Co Sala PR team must be in full effect. Yesterday (5/8) they just so happened to post their review from the Post on the LNS Forums, even though the review was written in January.
I read that they will open for Sunday brunch from 11am-6pm……maybe just not initially? We went on Wednesday night and loved it.
Hello Residents…
We will be open for Sunday brunch (11am – 6pm)soon (I don’t want to give a definitive date but the second it is confirmed, I will post it)…as of now, it is just dinner service starting at 5pm each day of the week except for Sunday.
I appreciate the suggestion with respect to discounts for Penn Quarter residents…it is something we will absolutely consider. I respectfully request that you give us a bit of time to get our service as fluid as possible for all aspects of the day.
In addition, I would love to attend some of the Condo Association meetings if permissible to introduce myself, our concept, etc. and start discussions as to how we can work closely with the loyal residents of PQ.
And when you do stop by, please ask for myself or Nisha (my partner and the visionary behind our concept).
Thanking You
Bharet
My boyfriend and I tried out Co. Co. Sala tonight, and this place is now my favorite in DC. We had the tandoori chicken slider, the bacon mac and cheese, the co cojito (a spin on a mojito with chocolate vodka instead of rum), and the chocolate soufflĂ©. They were all beyond amazing, as were the ambiance and the service. I can’t believe how lucky we are to be able to walk to such a great restaurant in 2 minutes.
Sounds great. Any chance that they’ll be doing any tie-ins with the local theaters like Woolly, Ford’s and Shakespeare? Or a pre theatre menu?
Went to Coco last night, amazing place! These guys have an incredible concept with amazing deserts . . .loved the chocolate jalebi and tirmisou. Nice ambiance, great music.
Co Co Sala is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and I wish them the best.
My only issue is $7 for one bite-sized hamburger slider!!?? Yes, you heard me right, ONE slider for that price with no sides…and we’re not talking Kobe beef. Add a gin and tonic for $10 and you’re well on your way to an expensive snack. I’ll be sticking to the desserts, which are quite good and a unique concept, for special occasions.
I am looking forward to trying CoCo Sala. Unfortunately, I absolutely destest chocolate. Is everything made with chocolate or are there some things I can eat?
What about a menu? Any chance of seeing one? Their website hasn’t been updated–it only has links to email about job opportunities.
Great space. Fun concept. Honestly – $7 for one itty bitty slider? How about 2 for $10 even? Almost overkill on staff attention. Some food very good – some just OK. Actually did not try dessert – so will go back for that. A VERY young and attractive crowd.
The interior is nice but the food and drinks are extremely overpriced. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such small portions for $7 in my entire life, at first I thought the “small plates” were free samples. When I realized they were serious, I thought I was Steve Martin in L.A. Story staring at a sliver of food that was supposed to be dinner.
Menu included in this Washingtonian article:

Why does the menu in the Washingtonian article have the sliders, crab cakes and salads priced at $6 when the actual price on the menu is $7.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Mrs Columbo & I went to Co Co Sala last night, and all I can say is wow. We had several of the bite sized plates (tandori chix sliders!), mixed drinks, fun beers (Kasteel!), and then split the Aztec 5 course dessert. It was all excellent, F Street has really come together with some great shops and now Co Co Sala. This place is fun.
