Neighborhood Artist Dana Ellyn Holds Open House, Reception At Warehouse!
One of Washington DC’s most successful and hardest working independent artists is also a Gallery Place resident. Painter, Dana Ellyn will be throwing open the doors to her studio live/work space this Sunday, October 22nd from noon until 6PM. Dana is inviting anybody that wants to come to her place at the Mather Studios Building to meet the artist and see her paintings. Dana maintains a webpage where you can view her latest work as well as a comprehensive archive of her paintings.

Time: Noon-6pm
** To enter the building, use the security phone outside and dial 0304 to be buzzed in.
Additionally, Dana Ellyn also has a 2-person show hanging at the Warehouse Downtown Arts Space. There is an Artist Reception Friday night (October 20th) from 6-8pm – it is free and open to the public. The show is entitled “Freak House” and it will be hanging until November 1st. The Warehouse is located at 1021 7th Street, NW (on 7th between NY Ave and L Street).

I am planning on going to the freak house show and Dana’s open studio. her work is powerful and gaining a lot of momentum/attention…. very affordable, which isn’t usually the case with good art. she’s a nice person too!
