Juan Valdez Space Already Leased To Another Entity! (7th & E St NW)
Less than a week ago, we heard from Karl that Juan Valdez would be closing on April 30th (7th & E St NW).
Well, Andy in PQ just left a comment that an employee of Juan Valdez said that someone has indeed already taken over the lease.
Let the speculation begin!

That is really too bad!
Hey, has anyone heard about Tony Cheng’s moving out of it’s current location?
Someone told me that they bought a space nearby….
tony: yes, we’ve heard rumblings, but no solid info yet. Tony owns a building in Mt. Vernon Triangle, but there is no indication that he plans to close his current restaurant.
according to the DC Historic Preservation Office, Tony Cheng is looking to build a restaurant on the 900 block of 5th Street NW, he applied for a raze permit right by Fun Fair Video. It is Currently under review by HP.
If you really wanted to test whether they’re copying you, you should post some false detail in one of these stories and see if they copy it. Otherwise it seems pretty hard to argue that they’re not just getting this info off the public record–especially given that they’re trailing you by weeks, not like a few days.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Too bad it’s not Illy Cafe, which now has a store in the West End as reported in todays Post.
I like their coffee best of all.
