L’Occitane Now Open
Walking down F ST this afternoon we noticed that L’Occitane was open. We were coming back from the pool so we didn’t go in to talk to the workers to get any details. Did any of our readers stop by? What did you think?

Jack Evans said the council is working with Doug Jemal and the Balducci’s group to come up with an agreement to move into Penn Quarter in the old space.
I think they are just working on the proper fiancial incentives to get the deal signed.
I am much more excited about the Safeway opening in September.
the TIF financing amendment Act went before the DC Council’s Finance & Revenue committee last Thursday. it’s an “emergency” Act which means once it’s signed by the Mayor, it a) doesn’t have to be approved by Congress and b) will be valid only for 90 days after Mayoral signature. Cue Doug Jemal.

I heard that the delay has been due to some structural issues with the basement of the building that needed to be addressed.
