Based on the ad in today’s Express the Newseum is interviewing for volunteers and partime staff — work begins week of February 15.
I gotta wonder how durable those screens are. I can easily see some skate rats trying to do 50-50 grinds on them.
You guys probably remember the color paper printouts which occupied that sidewalk for a year or two up until the major construction began on the site. It was really cool to walk up and see what was going on in bloomington, indiana or goleta, california, or at least what their newsapers thought was important. Interesting to see how many newspapers will use the same AP photo on their front pages on the same day.
I was lucky enough to get a tour of the Newseum yesterday, and wow, what a great destination it will be! I got clarification on the the daily news front page displays on the street (as well as in the museum)… the Newseum receives the front pages electronically, but will print them out and be placed in the displays.
They’re aiming for a April opening date. It’s quite an amazing place! I can’t wait!
