French Cafe to Open Soon
While making our regular grocery shop at Safeway this week, we noticed this signage at 450 K St. NW for a new French cafe, L’Hommage Bistro. We couldn’t find a dedicated web site, but previous reporting around the Web notes that the concept is from the owner of Alba Osteria, Hakan Ihlan, and will be a full-service and carry-out French bistro and bakery. We look forward to sharing more about the anticipated opening date soon.
Georgetown Valet Dry Cleaners Coming To Penn Quarter (614 E St NW)
The Georgetown Valet dry cleaners put up a “Coming Soon” banner announcing their intent to occupy 614 E St NW where Bo Dogs hot dogs used to be. This will be the third tenant for the space having been the Potato Valley Cafe before Bo Dogs which closed in August of 2014.
This will undoubtedly be competition for the other dry cleaner close by, Market Square Cleaners. Wash.io also sprouted in the Washington area recently as an on demand dry cleaning service. Three dry cleaning options means more choice for residents and workers alike!

Jetties grand opening will be on Saturday, April 4 Tuesday, April 14 and the first 100 customers will get a free Nobadeer sandwich (per their Facebook page). Sounds delicious to us!
The Royals
Brits and Anglophiles alike are donning their best fascinators this week as Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall visit DC. Aside from a White House meeting, several stops in the PQ neighborhood are included in the itinerary – the National Archives, the Shakespeare Theatre Company, and the Hay Adams Hotel. Be prepared for traffic delays, but if you’ve got the time, step out to the streets and practice your best curtsy and bow!
