10th And F St NW Stores Closed For New Development
The stores at the corner of 10th and F Streets NW have closed or will be closed shortly so that the 1000 F St NW redevelopment by Douglas Development can begin. Closed shops include Honest Abe’s Souvenirs (see photo above courtesy of Columbo) and Fro-Zen-Yo. An American Eagle Outfitters will be the retail tenant once Douglas completes the project which is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2015. This is the last corner to be rehabilitated at this intersection.
New 11 Story Hotel Considered For H Street NW In Chinatown
A newly proposed 11 story hotel may grace the 600 block of H Street NW in the lot housing the former China Doll and Lei Garden restaurants (photo) between Vapiano’s and the recently opened Sports Zone Elite store. The hotel would require zoning variances because of the proposed building configuration.
This property’s disposition history goes back to 2006 when China Doll closed and 2007 when the never built Gallery Square project was conceived. It’s been an empty lot for quite some time.
The R & R Residential Brokerage website cites the hotel project’s prospectives including some great renderings. (Hat tip: a regular PQ Living reader)
