Lime Fresh Mexican Grill (726 7th St NW) Opening In One Week
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill (726 7th St NW) is looking good and is set to open in one week on August 21 according to the signage posted outside the newly built out space. The inside appears ready to go and they are hiring. We’re not sure how three fast, casual Mexican restaurants (Lime Fresh, California Tortilla, and Chiptole) will fare all at once in a one block stretch of 7th Street NW but we’re about to find out. Let the taco Olympics begin. ¡Andale!

Opps They Did It Again
About a week ago we noticed that the old Waffle Shop space (522 10th St NW) had once again been emptied. Most recently housing a souvenir shop, the old Waffle Shop space has stymied us for quite some time. First there were the rumors of Tackle Box taking over the space, then it housed a souvenir shop, then the pop-up store “Help Shop” and finally the recently emptied second run as souvenir shop.
We assume this is the final preparation for the new tower being built by Jamal, but who knows? Will another pop-up shop grace this space? We’ve given up guessing (mostly because we’ve been wrong every time), but for some reason this little storefront does fascinate us.
