Azur Opening Soon
UPDATED (January 17, 2013): We’ve learned that Azur is now supposed to open “later this winter.” [Eater DC]
External signs are up for Azur (405 8th St. NW), Frederick de Pue’s forthcoming European seafood restaurant and oyster bar. While the previously expected New Year’s Eve opening didn’t happen, it seems it might be sometime in the next few weeks.
Capitals Return To The Verizon Center
The NHL lockout is over and that means the Capitals will be back at the Verizon Center for an abridged season of 48 or 50 games starting somewhere around the middle of January. Will the fans show up is one of the big questions? The mildly annoying horn tooting after the game is temporary and the season will be spectacularly short but our affinity for the red and white is much stronger so we’ll be there, at least for a few games.
