Penn Quarter Bodega Happy Hour Tonight
The Penn Quarter Bodega is in fundraising mode and from an e-mail, we learned that they will be hosting a happy hour tonight as below:
This Wednesday, August 15th, from 5 to 7pm, Penn Quarter Bodega returns to the Poste Brasserie Courtyard for a neighborhood happy hour, where they kicked it all off last year with an announcement about launching the Penn Quarter Bodega business. The Bodega team will be saying hello, talking about and answering any questions about the Friends of the Bodega crowdfunding campaign, and accepting sponsorships on the spot if you are so inclined. The happy hour is open to all in the neighborhood and Wednesday is looking like the perfect day to enjoy the Poste Courtyard and one of their summer cocktail specials.
Food Trucks At MLK Library (901 G St NW) On Wednesdays
From an e-mail from the DC Public Library, we learned that on every Wednesday for several weeks, food trucks will park in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library at 9th and G St NW as part of the Books & Bites @ the Library initiative. People can grab lunch at the food trucks, relax and enjoy their meal at special seating under the overhang, and enjoy the library’s free WiFi – surfing the Internet, downloading books and music, or exploring the library’s online databases. If you want to find out which food trucks are serving, surf over to Food Truck Fiesta to get a real time update.

Shake Shack And Knightsbridge (Ashok Bajaj) To Set Up On F Street NW
This week there was lots of news surrounding 800 F St NW, the building housing both the Spy Museum and former Zola restaurant. Both the International Spy Museum Cafe and the now idle Zola restaurant space will have new operators put in place. The former will get a 3,200 square foot Shake Shack from New York City and the latter will get a to-be-determined 8,300 square foot restaurant concept from Ashok Bajaj, proprietor of the Knightsbridge Restaurant Group that runs Rasika, 701, Bibiana, and a host of other restaurants around town. Both F Street eateries have been operating for a number of years and a refresh seemed to be announced about on time for the lifecycles of such establishments. To wit, here’s the press on the matter:
