Photo Of The Week: Wellies!
Our Photo of the Week is by erin m who snapped this picture [larger image] looking towards the corner of 7th and F Streets, NW. The unmistakable patterned Wellington boots which we see worn by more and more fashionable women these days caught our attention. Are they a fad like Uggs or will they endure in vogue?

Royal Thai Cuisine and Bar Open For Business (507 H St NW)
We noticed Royal Thai Cuisine & Bar (507 H Street, NW) putting its signs up back in February and we thought the fresh coat of exterior paint might portend a quick opening thereafter. Folk Life Festival Opens Today
Today marks the start of the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival. They’ve been setting up the last couple of weeks and the weather looks good (if a little warm) for the first day. This year the festival features the country of Wales, Las Americas (music in Latino culture), and Giving Voice (the power of words in African American culture). We’re particularly excited about the bands playing this year with the Las Americas section, but it’s always fun to just wander around and stumble upon the various exhibits.
Are any of you going to try to make the opening ceremonies today at 11 am?
