Organic To Go Is Open (1311 F St NW)
Organic To Go, an organic certified casual cafe, is now open at 1311 F Street, NW. We stopped by briefly to check it out one morning and found a very inviting interior including a nicely laid out, delicious looking salad bar many feet in length, a carpeted lounge-like eating area with a faux rattan/bamboo theme and free Wi-Fi Internet access. You’ll find a counter in the back with staff available to make you a breakfast or lunch sandwich and a refrigerated case filled with prepped foods and drinks lines the right wall. This first stop was just a drink stop but the organic pizza and the Reed’s Ginger Brew caught our eye for the next visit. Not shown in the photo above, they offer outdoor seating and will cater.
OTG plans to open four other locations around DC, the closest findable at 927 15th Street, NW (McPherson Square). They are not open on Sunday.
Asian Spice Now Open! (8th & H St NW)
Thanks to anon and Clara Barton Dweller for pointing out that Asian Spice is now open! Initial reports are favorable.
The Sidewalk Ads Keep Coming
We’ve commented on these sidewalk ads several times now, the latest we’ve noticed are for the Museum of Crime and Punishment. This ad is at the corner of 9th & Constitution (next to the Archives).
We’ve asked this question before, but wonder if over time you’ve changed your minds: are these guerilla ads clever marketing or public eyesores?
Another Sushi Option For The PQ
The WaBizJo is reporting that a new installation of Wasabi, the sushi conveyor belt restaurant on Farragut Square, is being planned for the Penn Quarter in early 2009. This version of the restaurant will get a bar and count ’em, not one but two sushi conveyor belts.
