Race For The Cure Tomorrow
It’s that time of year again. Time for what is probably DC’s largest 5K, the Race for the Cure, which will take place tomorrow morning. The runner’s start is at 8 am at 10th Street and Constitution Avenue. The race course heads west on Constitution, does a little loop north beyond the White House, returns along Constitution and then cuts south at 15th Street to pick up Jefferson Drive until the finish line at 4th Street.
Watch for road closures and lots of people on the Mall and surrounding areas (for a good cause!).
Blue Thunder?
Artisan residents tell us that they’ve been alerted to FBI helicopter maneuvers starting this evening at 9 pm. We at PQLiving have put together an artist’s rendering of what this may look like.
The helicopter action is to last about an hour over the skies of PQ.
A Tree Falls In Mt. Vernon Square
And you thought all those pictures of fallen trees were from the ‘burbs. This tree in Mount Vernon Square near 9th and K Streets NW couldn’t stand the weather yesterday so it decided to lie down. WaPo has additional coverage from around the region.

It Came To The Hirshhorn Museum
MST3K fans rejoice! Come to the Hirshhorn tonight at 7 pm for a free showing of 1955’s It Came From Beneath The Sea. Tonight’s movie kicks off the Hirshhorn’s Summer Camp Series. If stop-motion animation is your thing you’re sure to enjoy this B movie classic.
For those with a more discerning palate may we recommend the June 29th showing of the 1956 classic Earth vs. The Flying Saucers in which [SPOILER ALERT] the final battle is decided here in our neighborhood above the skies of the National Mall!
