Two new restaurants are coming to the PQ. Both are being bankrolled by Oya at 777 9th Street, NW:
- Sei, 444 7th Street, NW – Takeout sushi from the sushi chef at Perry’s (Adams Morgan). (January 2008)
- Ray, 901 9th Street, NW – Thought the space occupied by Pearl restaurant was dead? It’ll be coming back to life as a seafood oriented French restaurant with a 100 foot aquarium. (April 2008)

In a neighborhood without a grocery store, we have to ask: How’s that turkey getting to your Thanksgiving day dinner table?
Downtown Neighborhood Association Meeting Tonight
The monthly Downtown Neighborhood Association’s (DNA) meeting is tonight in the Navy Memorial Heritage Center in Market Square (701 Penn Ave, NW) from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
The lead discussion leader will be Councilmember Carol Schwartz as At-Large member of the DC city council. Councilmember Schwartz is Chair of the Committee on Workforce Development and Government Operations.
Rich Bradley, Executive Director with the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) will be on hand to discuss their collaboration with the National Park Service. Zach Dobelbower, a Planner with the Office of Planning will join us to discuss the Chinatown branding study. First District Commander, David Kamperin, will also be present.
Chop’t Provides Free Lunch On Wednesday! (730 7th St NW)
We’ve received official word that Chop’t Creative Salad is opening on Wednesday (11/14) and will offer lunch “on the house” from 11am – 2pm, while supplies last.
Owners, Tony Shure and Colin McCabe, want to meet the neighborhood. So, all Penn Quarter residents and workers are invited to stop by and say hello (not that we really needed the invitation)!
For its first week, Chop’t will operate on an abbreviated schedule from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Full operational hours and catering and delivery services will begin around Thanksgiving.
