Penn Quarter Building Permit Update
The first permit is really interesting because it specially addresses noise. As you know, 601 Penn Ave is a 150-unit residential building.
We reported in May that Becky’s Cafe will be replaced by Momiji Restaurant (Japanese). The address on the permit is 505 H St NW, while the liquor license address is 503 H St NW.

A Glance At Crime In PQ, Year To Date
Penn Quarter seems to get safer year after year. 2007 “year to date” has total violent crime down 4% and total property crime down 7% compared to 2006.
Plotting the crime on a map yields few patterns except when looking at robbery with gun, where all 3 incidents occurred between H & I street.

The forecast this weekend is as follows:
Saturday – Sunny and highs in the low 80s.
Tonight – Lows in the low 60s. Clear.
Sunday – Partly sunny and highs in the high 70s.
Sunday night – Mostly cloudy, lows in the mid 60s and a chance of rain.
We caught this building in the 600 block of D Street, NW getting a pressure wash and can’t think of a nicer day to be outside.
