It’s that time of year again when foodies delight and Restaurant Week (August 6 to 12) rolls around so we can all diversify our palates. With lunch costing $20.07 and dinner costing $30.07, the PQ has no shortage of great restaurants to indulge in. Although slightly outdated, WaPo provides a handy visual guide for many of the restaurants in the area. Let your fellow readers know where you’ll be going for Restaurant Week.

The ’07 Condo Buying/Selling Experience
For those of you who are buying or selling a condo in the Penn Quarter, WaPo provides an anecdotal look at the selling experience some owners have when they want to depart new buildings. One of the complaints that buyers and sellers alike have with the real estate industry relates to the somewhat inexact process of pricing a condo. What is that Brazilian hardwood floor really worth? Is the Poggenpohl cabinet that much better than the Leedo? Sites like Zillow and Trulia (Washington DC sales heat map) take a stab at quantifying price trends but they are only as good as the data that supplies them.
The good news about buying or selling a condo is that many units are usually like others in a building so there is a much better way to evaluate the price and liquidity of a given unit. To that end, we point you to a fantasticly analytical site called DC Housing Prices that evaluates sales data down to the building level. Take a look !
Penn Quarter Comfort Foods
Do you ever wake up on Sunday mornings, with no way to hold your head that doesn’t hurt? Perhaps you just have that feeling of melancholy, knowing the weekend is ending and another work week is about to begin? Mrs Columbo calls that feeling the Sunday Blues.
There are probably a lot of ways to get rid of the Sunday Blues (although I don’t recommend the beer for breakfast/one more for dessert method), but this blogger prefers to sit down with one of the many available comfort foods in the neighborhood. A personal favorite is the eggs Benedict at Bistro D’OC, and a strong case could be make for the noodle soups at Chinatown Express. Now that they’re open on Sundays, the single greatest pizza in the world, Matchbox’s spicy meatball pizza, is also another fine option.
What other great comfort foods should we be considering in PQ?
