RSS FeedBar Louie Location Confirmed In Gallery Place
In the past, there has been confusion as to exactly where Bar Louie will be located in the Gallery Place complex. Now that the brown paper has gone up on the windows, and a 2nd liquor license application has been posted, we can be more definite about its location.
We suspected that the restaurant/bar would be located on the bottom floor inside of the complex, but what we didn’t account for was the space outside of the complex on the short walkway of the 6th St side (approx. 6th and G St NW). That part of the restaurant/bar is pictured in this article. Now, we can assume that the 80 seat “summer garden” will be hosted on the patio outside.
Restaurant Week Is Coming…Jaleo & La Tomatina
Restaurant Week (August 14 to 20) is coming in one week meaning it’s time to cross a few more restaurants off the list. Lunches are $20.06 and dinners are $30.06, all fixed price. Of note, Jaleo will celebrate the tomato throwing festival, La Tomatina, with its own specialized menu starting August 14. The festival happens every year the last Wednesday of August in the Valencian town of Buñol, Spain.
Bus Stop Adjustment At Gallery Place
Dave wrote in to let us know the following:
- one issue i find interesting (and somewhat complex) is that the city has recently moved a bus stop from above the 7th/H Metro stop, across the street next to Fuddruckers. as a metro rider, it was somewhat annoying to make it up the escalator to a mob of folks waiting for the bus. they often would block my exit, b/c they were using the sheltered area to wait for the bus, away from wind/rain. i’m sure benneton was happy to get them to leave, too.
moving a bus stop across the street seems innocuous, but it does affect a certain class of folks more than others.
there is a nice sign that says that the bus stop has temporarily relocated across the street to Fudds . . . now the sign has the “temporarily” marked out.
Anyone have any comments as to how this bus stop change affects their daily commute?
DC Crime Maps – New Site!
Tom, over at www.crimeindc.org created a wonderful site that essentially replaces our DC Crime Maps site. It has many more features, and best of all, RSS feeds! There are so many ways to configure the perfect RSS feed (by hour, day, street, block, etc) that it really is useful to everyone. The link in the sidebar has been updated. Check it out.
