Free March Concerts At National Gallery Of Art (Constitution Ave NW)
March is here and we want to let readers know about the free concerts put on by the National Gallery of Art (Constitution Ave NW between 3rd and 9th St NW) for the month. Most of the concerts are in the West Building’s West Garden Court but a few are not so check the schedule online for more information. All times are in the afternoon (PM).

- March 27 at 2:00 and 3:30 – Rachel Barton Pine (Complete Bach Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin) – West Building, West Garden Court
Art on Foot: The Chess Players
The Chess Players, a bronze sculpture by the artist Lloyd Lillie installed in 1983, sits in John Marshall Park (4th St, between Penn. Ave. and C St, NW) to honor one of Chief Justice Marshall’s favorite pastimes.
Specs New York Sunglasses Store Now Closed (1206 G St NW)
Well, that was quick. Specs New York opened on G St NW across from Macy’s in the summer of 2014 and today we verified that it’s closed. The Montgomery Mall and Springfield Town Center stores are still open. We’ll keep our readers posted on what comes next.
Herman Miller Takes Up Residence At 9th & G St (900 G St NW)
Herman Miller, the iconic office and home furniture manufacturer, opened a new office (showroom?) in the ground level retail space of the new office building at 9th and G St NW. In classic Herman Miller style, the furnishings are gorgeous and the layout makes you want to bring a good book, sit down on the couch, and stay for a while.
