Gallery Place is getting its own cheese shop. The Bay Area-based Cowgirl Creamery is branching out, in its third shop and first venue outside of California, to 919 F Street, NW. Founders Sue Conley and Peggy Smith, both originally from the DC area, have lived in California for 30 years, and have operated Cowgirl Creamery since 1996. The new shop, which will carry the CC’s award-winning cheeses, as well as others from small producers, expects to open on April 6.
Cowgirl Creamery already sells its cheeses to DC restaurants such as Equinox, Vidalia, and Restaurant Nora, but the CC plans to expand its empire with a system similar to their CA operation, which distributes dairy products to over 300 restaurant accounts in the Bay area.
Bed Bath and Beyond Is Open
The store opened today at Gallery Place.

If Bed Bath and Beyond ever had a “mega-store” version of its own store, this may be it. In addition to your usual BB&B, the Gallery Place store features a large convenience store section as well as a wedding registry section, including upscale crystal and silverware. The store staff is so friendly that gpliving was greeted by every one of its 15+ employees while touring the store.
Upon entering the 7th street entrance, you will descend the escalator to the huge sub-terrain store. BB&B also has an entrance from the Gallery Place parking garage which can be accessed from 6th St between the MCI Center and H St.

If you choose to drive to BB&B, make sure you bring in your parking ticket for 1/2 price parking with purchase.
The crystal and silverware section mentioned above is officially called the “Fine Tabletop & Giftware department.” Only select BB&B’s sport this department.
Library Listening Session Tonight

Bed Bath and Beyond, Where Are You?
The final store to open in the Gallery Place retail mega-complex is Bed Bath and Beyond. Gpliving has seen two different dates of when the store is expected to open. The first date is February 5th and the second date is February 6th. But, BB&B still sports “Coming soon!” signs on its 7th street doors. Hopefully it’ll open soon because gpliving has a stack of 20% off coupons to use up.
